Abstract
Among the hemodialysis people one of the most common
newlinecomplications are muscle cramps, hypotension and poor quality of life. Muscle
newlinecramps can occur anywhere in the body, but common in calf muscles, feet,
newlinetoes, thigh and abdomen. Almost all individuals complain of muscle cramps
newlineand hypotension during Hemodialysis. These symptoms are managed with
newlinenormal saline infusion, simple calf massages and even by temporarily
newlinestopping the ultrafiltration till cramps go off and the blood pressure is restored
newlineto normal. Some of them are prescribed, creatinine preparations regularly for
newlinepreventing muscle cramps. In hemodialysis unit it has been observed that,
newlinemany individuals show complaints of leg cramps, fatigue, nausea and
newlinehypotension. In this, majority of the people complained about leg cramps and
newlinehypotension during dialysis. It is a prioritized problem and may be
newlinemisinterpreted as cramps of neurological problems, stroke episodes which in
newlineturn leads to fear, anxiety and restricted follow up to avoid the painful
newlineepisodes of cramps during hemodialysis. Intradialytic stretching exercise are
newlineto be carried out using bio-physiological parameters and quality of life for the
newlineassessment.
