Abstract

In recent years humanity has envisioned the science for various ways to increase safety and convenience in our everyday lives This need for added security and convenience has drastically increased the demand for one such application namely cellular telephony necessitating the development ofmethods to increase the number of users that can be supported by a cellular system at one time Traditional narrowband system based od Frequency Division multiplexing FDM or Time Division Multiplexing TDM is a dimension limited system Dimension size is determined by the number of non overlapping frequencies for FDMA by the number of time slots for TDMA In aTDMA system once all time slots are assigned no additional users can be added Thus it is not possible in each cell to add additional users due to frequency limitations and increasing traffic leads to costly cellular configurations such as cell splitting and cell sectorization newline
