Abstract

Approaches to the study of Folklore in India have diversified into multiple directions and newlinedisciplines, spanning from Cultural Studies and Anthropology to Linguistics. The western newlineapproaches have, at the same time dwelled into Narratology, Psychology and to some extent Indigenous Studies. At present, the trends in Folklore research and academics are immensely focused on documentation and revival of knowledge systems. newline
