Multilevel inverter is a power electronic converter that synthesizes voltage from many levels of dc voltages. In multilevel inverter, selective harmonic elimination is major one for both medium-and high-voltage applications. The performance of output voltage and power is enhanced with the reduction of total harmonic distortion. Selective Harmonic Elimination is performed to eliminate definite low-order harmonics that leads to reduce the switching frequency. Harmonic elimination in multilevel inverters established large consideration for past few decades with minimal total harmonic distortion. But, the elimination of selective harmonics in multilevel inverter still experiences certain drawbacks. Conventional research failed in the selection of optimal switching angle for obtaining enhanced harmonic elimination efficiency. Recently, many research works are introduced for enhancing the performance of output voltage and power in multilevel inverter. An existing ant colony optimization based hybrid algorithm was proposed in seven-level multilevel inverter for selective harmonic elimination with condensed switches. But, the execution time was not reduced. A bat evolutionary optimization method was introduced with identical DC sources. But, the harmonic elimination failed to improve output voltage performance with lesser computational complexity. Simulated Annealing based method was planned to optimize the newlineswitching angles that reduces total harmonics distortion. But, it fails to reduce the total harmonic distortion along with low order harmonics. Existing hybrid asynchronous PSO-Newton-Raphson method was described for removing undesired harmonics. newline newline
