Abstract
newline Bismuth Ferrite (BiFeO3) is a probably the only room temperature multiferroic material which offers applications in variety of fields ranging from spintronics, nonvolatile memories, photocatalysis and so on. It is a perovskite material with rhombohedral structure and R3c space group. However, all these aforesaid applications can be realized provided we can overcome its inherent deficiencies such as high leakage current, low resistivity, cycloidal spin structure. Therefore, in this endeavour, BiFeO3 has been doped with alkaline earth elements Ba and Sr and various properties of the doped materials have been studied.
