Impact of Training and Development on Productivity A study of selected manufacturing firms in Uttarakhand

newlineAll manufacturing and processing units need a resource, process, tool, or machine to produce a product or service. In all resources, human resources occupy a primordial position in various resource lists. Due to differences in age groups, basic education and acceptability, there is a lack of heterogeneity in work and knowledge capacity in human resources. The technology and designs of products are constantly changing, and to cope up with the new conditions of the market, it becomes essential to train the workforce in accordance with the altered conditions. The present study has been undertaken to have thorough understanding of the impact of Training and Development on Productivity and also to study the future of potential industrial movement in Uttarakhand. Visualizing the industrial backwardness of the state of Uttarakhand and the types of industries set up in the recent past, the present study has been undertaken visualizing the importance of training and development and its role in improving the organizational effectiveness. Industries were grouped in four that is Pharmaceutical, Engineering, Instrumentation and Health care sector. The data collected has been analyzed by various statistical tools such as Chi square, one way analysis of variance, factor analysis and descriptive statistics. The study starts with an overview of HRM and Training and Development with its importance and objectives. The study is undertaken to study the perceived training outcome between employees working at different levels in the organization. newline newline
