| dc.description.abstract | The pressure die casting is a process of injecting molten metal into metallic newlinemold with high pressure, velocity, and temperature. The pressure die casting method is newlinesuited in the applications for large quantities of small to medium sized products with a newlinefine surface quality and a high dimensional consistency. It is used mainly to produce newlinenon-ferrous metals, specifically zinc, copper, aluminum, magnesium, lead, tin based newlinealloys, plastics, and composite casting products. Among those, aluminium based casting newlineproducts are most popular and have widely been used in numerous applications. It newlinerequires high pressure, high velocity, and low cycle time of production with high newlinefluctuation of temperatures such as 30 to 670 °C. These parameters affect the mold newlinesurface with residual strain due to high thermal shock fatigue, which deteriorates the newlinequality of surface of mold and leads to loss of hardness, development of crack, and newlinesoldering effect. These damages have also produce impression on the casting products newlineand hinder smooth production and finally, are needed to be rejected from the production newlinesites to avoid any unpredicted accident and high production cost. Therefore, scientists or newlinetechnologists are trying to overcome these issues through economic production of newlinecastings maintaining high quality of the mold materials by mold repairing techniques, newlinewhich will minimize the stoppages and breakdown of mold in production. Although newlinethere have several attempted made by many researchers by experimental and simulation newlinestudies, no study however, could develop proper thermal simulation technique as well as newlinerepairing methods till date newline | |
