Abstract
Now a days combination of properties of new technology is need of many industries for variety of applications. As a result, it is focused on the advancement of composite materials. Composite materials are multiphase materials that combine the properties of both component phases. Polymer matrix composites, metal matrix composites, and ceramic matrix composites are the classification of composite materials based on the matrix material. Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) are most widely used in industrial applications. Because of its high strength to weight ratio Aluminium Matrix Composites (AMCs) are most widely used. Improved hardness, high strength, higher stiffness, lower density are advantages of aluminium matrix composites in comparison to unreinforced material. Over the last few years, the production of aluminium composites has involved the use of an aluminium matrix with various reinforcements is used commonly in the automobile and aerospace industries. Reinforcement particles are the second phase particles that are incorporated into the matrix. The aluminium matrix is reinforced with a variety of reinforcements such as fibres, whiskers, and particulates. The followings reinforcements are used in the composite material are carbides like SiC, TiC, WC, and B4C, nitrides like TaN, ZrN, Si3N4, TiN, borides like TaB2, ZrB2, TiB, WB), and oxides like ZrO2, Al2O3, ThO2, MoS2. Stir casting process was used to prepare the aluminium hybrid composites. The matrix material is AlMg1SiCu alloy was utilized. Titanium carbide and molybdenum disulfide particles were added as reinforcement. Many experiments were performed by adding single reinforcement particles to the aluminium matrix, but there were few studies conducted on hybrid composites.
