Effect of Plyometric Training Weight Training and Combined Training on Selected Physical Physiological and Biochemical Variables among College Men Jumpers

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to find out the effects of plyometric training, newlineweight training and combined training would produce significant improvement on newlineselected physical, physiological and biochemical variables among college men newlinejumpers. To achieve the purpose of the present study sixty men jumpers in the age newlinegroup of 18 to 25 years studying from Sivagangai district level jumpers, Tamil newlineNadu, were selected as subjects at randomly. The selected sixty subjects were newlinecategorized into two experimental groups and control group. For the purpose of the newlinestudy, the experimental group I was allocated for Plyometric training (n=15,) the newlineexperimental group II was allocated for weight training (n=15, WT) the newlineexperimental group III was allocated for Combined training (n=15, CT) and Group newline IV served up as control group (n=15, CG) did not give any specific programme. newlineThe collected data from the four groups prior to and immediately after the newlineexperimental treatments on selected dependent variables were statistically analyzed newlineby using the statistical technique of analysis of covariance (ANCOVA).Whenever newlinethe F ratio for adjusted post-test means was found to be significant, Scheffe s test newlinewas followed as a post hoc test to determine which of the paired means difference newlinewas significant. In all the cases 0.05 level of confidence was fixed as a level of newlineconfidence to test the hypotheses. The capacity of the upper body muscular quality newlinewas more noteworthy impacted on the three experimental groups than the control newlinegroup. Further the combined training preferred on muscular quality execution than newlinethe Plyometric training and Weight training. The capacity of the abdominal quality newlinewas more prominent impacted on the three experimental group than the control newlinegroup. Further the combined training group more preferred on muscular quality newlineexecution than the Plyometric training group and Weight training group. The ability newlineof the leg explosive power was greater influenced on the three experimental groups newlinethan the control group.
