Phytopharmaceutical and pharmacological investigation of some indigenous plants

newline Arthritis is a painful swelling of joints and it is a common disease affecting large newlinepopulation. Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are most common. Osteoarthritis is newlinea degenerative joint disease occurring chiefly in older people and rheumatoid arthritis newlineis an autoimmune disorder of unknown etiology in complementary and alternative newlinemedicines such as Ayurveda (herbs) used for the treatment of many systemic newlinedisorders. Many herbs and herbal medicines have been used since time immemorial to newlinecure many disorders/diseases, including arthritis. In this backdrop, the main aim and newlineobjective were aimed towards the Phytochemical, Pharmacological and formulation of newlinesome indigenous herbs like Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Cymbopogan citratus, newlineCurcuma longa, Cyperus rotundus, Eucalyptus globulus, Gaultheria procumbens, newlineVitex negundo, Withania somnifera and Zingiber officinalis. newlineIn the present study, the phytochemical characterization and isolation was newlineperformed. Briefly, aqueous and hydro- alcholic extract of Zingiber officinalis, newlineWithania somnifera, Vitex negundo, Curcuma longa and Cyperus rotundus were done newlineusing Soxhlet apparatus.
