The problem of finding efficient routing algorithms has been a field newlineof research in the area of data network Routing is the act of moving newlineinformation across the internet from source to destination Routing newlinecomponents perform two basic activities one is that of determining optimal newlinerouting paths and the other of transporting information packets through the newlineinternet In optimal routing path determination routing protocols use metrics newlineto evaluate what path will be the best for a packet to travel A metric is a newlinestandard of measurement used by routing algorithms to determine optimal newlinepath to destination To aid the process of path determination routing newlinealgorithms initialize and maintain routing tables which contain route newlineinformation newline
