Abstract
Since the 1990s contemporary Odisha is witnessing the unfolding of the conflict between local
newlinepeople and state-backed corporations in resource-rich, thickly forested regions. A majority of
newlinethese people consists of tribals or adivasis, dalits and other weaker sections of society who
