| dc.description.abstract | The present research aims to enhance the open circuit voltage of multi crystalline silicon solar cell through Anti Reflection (AR) coating on the cell substrate. Calcium Titanium Oxide (CaTiO3) and Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) are chosen as the AR coating material for constructing thin film layer on polycrystalline silicon solar cell. Both of them have unique features such as orthorhombic, biaxial, non-radioactive and non-magnetic with electron bulk density of 3.91 g/cm3 and 3.78 g/cm3 respectively. Polycrystalline silicon solar cells are preferred for low cost, simple source of availability and desirable for tropical weather conditions.Commonly, voltage generation of the multi crystalline solar cell is low by 12% to 14% due to much reflection of inward sun radiation. Deposition of AR coating on the silicon substrate can minimize the reflection loss of sun radiation. The maximum improvement in solar cell efficiency after AR coating has been reported to be 18%.Sputter coating technique is more favourable for thin film coating in metal oxides due to its salient features like uniform coating thickness controlled by time. This uniform coating thickness absorbs more sun radiation. newline newline newline | |
