Abstract
The current energy scenario, and economic and environmental safety forces
newlinethe researchers to seek the better alternate fuel that comprises all the above-mentioned
newlineaspects. Calophyllum inophyllum oil is one of the biofuels having potential to use in
newlinecompression ignition (CI) engines. Therefore, this research aims to study the viability of
newlineCalophyllum inophyllum oil in CI engines using diesel and hydrogen. This research work
newlinehas four objectives. i)To study the performance, combustion, and emissions of
newlineCalophyllum inophyllum oil blended with diesel to compare straight Calophyllum
newlineinophyllum oil blended with diesel and secondary fuel used in the dual fuel technique
newline(Hydrogen induction). ii) To improve the characteristics of Straight Calophyllum
newlineinophyllum oil blended diesel biofuel with oxygenated additive (Diethyl ether and benzyl
newlinealcohol) and secondary fuel used in the dual fuel technique (Hydrogen induction). iii)
newlineTo study characteristics of premixing the benzyl alcohol with Calophyllum
newlineinophyllum oil blended diesel biofuel in CI engines. iv) The Exhaust gas recirculation
newlinetechnique is adapted to reduce NO emission in single-cylinder diesel engines. All four
newlinephases of experiments are conducted in the same engine test rig, the premixing setup,
newlinehydrogen induction setup and EGR setup are attached at the appropriate time of
newlineconduction of experiments
