Study of Dielectric Relaxations in Organic Polar Liquids in Dilute Solutions

Abstract

In the present work, different seven polar liquids viz. acetone, nitrobenzene, pyridine, benzonitrile, acetophenone, acetonitrile and ethanol have been choosen to carry out dielectric measurements. Five different concentrations of each compound were prepared and dielectric study has been done at the microwave frequency 10.15 GHz at room temperature. newlineTo study dielectric studies of binary mixtures of polar liquids i.e. acetophenone + nitrobenzene, acetone + nitrobenzene, ethanol + nitrobenzene were under taken. Essentially each binary mixture of polar liquid was of equal mass and prepared different five concentrations in benzene. The dielectric measurements of these three binary mixtures of polar liquids in benzene medium were carried out on employing microwave field of 10.15 GHz frequency at room temperature. newlineFor dielectric relaxation studies, we have selected acetone, nitrobenzene, pyridine and acetonitrile. Low loss polar systems prepared in nonpolar benzene medium. The dielectric measurements were taken at 30ºC,35ºC,40ºC and 45ºC temperature. The constant temperature of the solution was maintained by circulating hot water from arrangement of thermostat. All the dielectric measurements were taken at single microwave frequency 10.15GHz. newlineThe Gopala Krishna s single frequency method has been used to determine relaxation time (and#964;) and of electric dipole moment (and#956;). Important molecular information in terms of relaxation time (and#964;) and of electric dipole moment (and#956;) of all the seven polar compounds in benzene medium is studied in this work.
