The main aim of this research project has been to study the representation of newlinecommunal violence and trauma in the works of the selected authors. Vassanji, Roll of newlineHonour (2012) by Amandeep Sandhu, Helium (2013) by Jaspreet Singh, Our newlineMoon has Blood Clots (2013) by Rahul Pandita and The Book of Gold Leaves newline(2014) by Mirza Waheed. Representation of communal violence means studying newlinehow these texts deal with violence and what kind of violence. Hence, the newlineemphasis is on understanding the wellsprings of communal violence in India and newlinedifferent shades of violence as well as the narrative strategies these authors have newlineemployed to represent the communal conflagrations. newline
