Preparation and Evaluation of Self Assembled Free Standing Magnetoelectric Thin Films

Abstract

The facile physico-chemical RF magnetron sputtering technique is used to prepare highly efficient, hierarchically ordered micro/nano magnetoelectric thin films which can also used for fabrications of miniaturized devices. The hemispherical space inside the shell structures, inherited from the spherical polymer, are shown by the cross-sectional scanning transmission electron microscopy. newlineIn chapter II, discusses about the preparation of hemispherical, triangular and honeycomb free-standing structures using close-packed monolayer template. newlineIn chapter III, CoFe2O4 (CFO)/ Pb (Zr0.52Ti0.48) O3 (PZT)/ LaNiO3 (LNO) on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate prepared with promising larger magnetoelectric effects. Chapter IV explore the concept of the improved ferroelectric effects in self-assembled homogeneous free-standing Pb (Zr0.52Ti0.48) O3 / La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 /LaNiO3 thin film. Chapter V demonstrates enhanced magnetoelectric effects in two-dimensional multiferroics which promise greater interests for fundamental understanding and for device applications newline
