Synthesis of Novel Heterocyclic Compounds Containing P N Bond

Abstract

The thesis entitled Synthesis of Novel Heterocyclic compounds containing P-N newlinebond is present in six chapters. newlineThe work presented in this thesis was undertaken because a large no. of newlineorganophosphorus heterocycles containing O and N in a six-member ring possess newlinehigh antitumor and antimicrobial activity. The cyclisation products of two conformers newlineare very interesting as these molecules contain the oxazaphosphinine ring and may newlinehave potential as antibacterial, dieuretic and anticancer reagents. newlineThe clinical significance, unique conformation and stereo chemical aspects of newlineoxazaphosphinine have attracted much interest in drug design and synthesis. newlineChapter-1: This chapter deals with the introduction of Organophosphorus newlineheterocyclic compounds, its classification and importance of organophosphorus newlinecompounds in agriculture, medicine and industry and biological field. Literature newlinesurvey has been made on these type of compounds reported in this thesis. Some newlinecompounds containing P-N bond and P-O bond synthesis are summarized in this newlinechapter. A brief outline on the objectives of the current work are also given in this newlinechapter. newlineChapter-2: This chapter deals with materials and methods which are used during the newlineresearch work. To begin the work in this field, we needed some selective approach to newlinehandle air/moisture sensitive compounds. Some idea of experimental, characterisation newlineand purification techniques used to perform air/moisture sensitive reactions are newlinesummarized in this chapter. Shlenk line technique is explained in detail. These newlineorganophosphorus compound reactions are monitored by 31P-NMR in reaction newlinemixture, so a detail about 31P-NMR also dicussed in this chapter. The NMR data newlineshowed the presence of a P-N bond, while the IR spectra indicated the presence of newlinecharacterstic functional groups... newline newline
