Abstract
Implant used for repair and replacement of bone should have a
newlinecomposition that matches bone and a morphology that can support bone
newlineingrowth into the implant helping better regeneration and bone bonding In
newlinethis view hydroxyapatite prepared with macroporous morphology pore size
newline 100 and#956;m was identified to be suitable for implant application and was
newlineprepared in the present work
newlineHydroxyapatite powder preparation in the present work was carried
newlineout by solgel method to ensure proper purity of the obtained powder for
newlineimplant application Calcium nitrate and triethyl phosphate were used to
newlineprepare the sol Calcination was carried out at 600oC following gelation The
newlinepowder obtained after calcination was characterized by XRD and SEM
