Indian Copyright Law, Legal Framework: The Copyright Act of 1957 is the principal legislation governing copyright in India, with several amendments, the most notable being in 2012. Protected Works: Similar to the U.S., Indian copyright protects literary, dramatic, musical, artistic works, audio-visual works, and computer programs.
