Abstract
The present investigation was designed to find out the effect of Peer tutoring instructions and Computer Assisted Instructions on developing functional math competencies among students with mild intellectual disability and further make a comparison between the two. The study adopted single group pre and post test experimental research design. A sample of 30 students with mild intellectual disability has been selected from Government schools of Chandigarh falling between the age range of 11-14 years. Data was collected with the help of BASIC-MR tool by Reeta Peshawaria and S. Venkatesan (1992). CAI software package developed by NIEPID (earlier known as NIMH) was used in the present study. The findings of the study revealed that both the strategies i.e Peer tutoring instructions and Computer Assisted Instructions was effective in improving functional math competencies among students with mild intellectual disability. Further, findings also exhibited that Peer tutoring instructions was a slightly more effective strategy for teaching students with mild intellectual disability.
