Abstract
Occupational Stress is defined in terms of its psychological and physiological effects on a person (or thing). Stress is mental, physical or emotional strain or tension or it is a situation or factor that can cause this. Occupational stress occurs when there is a discrepancy between the demands of the environment/workplace and an individual s ability to carry out and complete these demands. The population has grown ten times in the last two decades and the number of policemen has remained almost the same or can say less than requirement. The job is physically demanding as well as mentally challenging. Delivery of services depends on a number of factors like interest, benefits received, proper coordination and cooperation among the staff etc. If somebody works out of compulsion, then the output is not expected to be very high in terms of quality and results in stress which further leads towards less job and life satisfaction among police personnel causing an adverse effect on their work life balance.
newlineThe study was conducted using descriptive research design. Research design is employed to carry out a scientific investigation. The Chi-Square Test was employed to assess the statistical significance of the connection between occupational stress and the health status of police personnel. For testing the hypothesis like a police personal health status and the culture of their workplace are significantly correlated, Researcher used the Karl Pearson s correlation coefficient to the type of relationship.
newlineThe data highlights a wide range of challenges faced by police personnel, impacting not only their professional effectiveness but also their personal well-being and family lives. These challenges are interconnected and stem from organizational, operational, and societal factors. Addressing these issues is vital for ensuring a healthy work environment, improved morale, and better service delivery to the community.
