Impact of Physicochemical Parameters of Water on Fish Diversity of Sapna Dam of Betul District MP

Abstract

newline Sapna dam is constructed in 1985, for irrigation purpose on the local river Sapna by Govt. of M. P. in BetulDistt. (M.P). The aim of the study was to observe the seasonal changes in physico- chemical parameters of water and its impact on fish diversity of Sapna dam. newlineThere are four sites of the dam were selected for the sampling of water and collection of fishes. The water samples were collected from various levels at four sampling stations in Sapna dam with the help of thermos flask water sampler polyethylene bottles and BOD bottles, monthly in early hour of the day for two years 2021 and 2022 The Physico chemical test performed on 15 properties of Water ie Ambient air temperature water temperature pH, Total Alkalinity Dissolved Oxygen, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Secchi Transparency Turbidity Free Carbon-DiOxide, Chloride, Total Sulfate Total Nitrogen and Phosphate These contents were determined immediately after the collection of water sample newlineWe observed many alterations in physico chemical changes in water and our results indicated that the presence of pollutant factors and unfavorable conditions in water due to agricultural and anthropogenic activities and its impact on fish diversity newline
