Exploring And Developing Teaching Learning Methodologies For Mathematics At Secondary Level

Abstract

The teaching and learning of mathematics at the secondary school level plays a crucial role in shaping students cognitive development, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. However, despite its foundational importance, mathematics continues to be perceived as a difficult and abstract subject by a large section of students, leading to poor academic performance and increased dropout rates. The present doctoral research titled quotExploring and Developing Teaching-Learning Methodologies for Mathematics at the Secondary Levelquot investigates the core pedagogical practices used in Indian secondary schools, identifies existing challenges, and proposes innovative, inclusive, and effective methodologies for improving student outcomes in mathematics. newlineThe study is aimed at exploring and developing teaching learning methodologies for Mathematics at secondary level with a view to make mathematical learning engaging and enriching experience. The more students participate in teaching learning, better the learning. NCF-2023 highlights the use of constructive approach in teaching learning. Participation is one of those workhorse instructional strategies, easy to use, straightforward, expected, and often quite successful at accomplishing a number of learning goals. Participation adds interest, engaging students, provides feedback to teachers and students, promote preparation, controls class, encourages dialogue among and between students and develops skills among students. newline newline
