dc.description.abstractEnglish literature is a bunch of literary works written in Britain or by British writers. It has gained prominence in previous centuries and has become very famous all over the globe. It is not because of writing only, but by the application of various theories that literature seems interesting to all readers of literature. In today s world Feminism, Modernism, Postmodernism, Imperialism, Colonialism, Postcolonialism, and many other theories play a prominent role when it comes to reading and teaching English literature. They enhance the interest and meaning of a literary piece. Postcolonialism came as a reaction against colonizers and their rule, it believes in many issues like displacement of despotic rule, hybridity, identity crisis, gender inequality, race, and many other problems faced by the people. The prime objective of this paper is to discuss and explain Postcolonialism and its adverse impact on sociality and the individual. The research scholar has tried to explain how Rohinton Mistry applied this theory to his literary works and became a socialist, humanist, philanthropist, and Postcolonial writer. newlinePostcolonialism is not a modern concept rather is the oldest idea but this term came to be used in the twentieth century. As imperialism spread to the corners of the world and gave rise to Colonialism, a displacement reaction became inevitable and it arrived in Asia and Africa to drive out colonialists from the land, which colonial nations have grabbed. newlinePresent day world believes in peace, liberty, equality, and fraternity, which are impossible in Colonialism. Postcolonial writers concentrate on many themes, but their thrust area is the displacement of Colonialism.
