Lexicographic Approach for Quadratic Transportation Problem with Additional Restriction

Abstract

Optimized decision solutions to most of the organizational problems is main concern of today s world. Thus the focus of this research study is developing an optimization decision support system by combining operations research methods, multi-criteria decision making techniques, and learning tools. newlineDevelopment of the optimization decision support system is based on the component based process model. The developed system comprises of 4 components: the Database Management Subsystem, Model base Management Subsystem, Knowledge base Management Subsystem, and the Dialog Management Subsystem. The developed system is implemented as TP-DSS to provide the transportation logistics management (TLM) decision makers with optimized solutions. The database management sub-system comprises the transportation database that includes data related to TLM, Knowledge base Management Subsystem stores knowledge in form of cases in a case base. The Model base Management Subsystem consists of a learning tool and 5 optimization models to solve various TLM problems. newlineThe developed system will help decision makers in enhancing the decision making process for TLM problems. newline newline
