dc.description.abstractWith advances in information technology, the internet has spread to almost every field, like online newlineshopping, bill payments through online mode, ticket bookings, and money transfers, etc. As a result, newlinethe internet unquestionably plays an important role in our daily lives, making it simple and easy. newlineHowever, this enhanced comfort also poses various challenges and concerns, including financial newlinethreats, data privacy, and personal security risks. Further, various organizations are also prone to newlineproblems like cyber-attacks, hacks, and fraud while using current technology. Therefore, the necessity newlinefor enhanced security for keeping personal and company data has increased significantly with a newlineconstant increase in security concerns and online or offline frauds. As a result, a ubiquitous and newlinereliable user authentication system should be designed for the protection of personal and newlineorganizational confidential information from hackers. Authentication is a fundamental element of newlinesystem security to restrict non-legitimate personnel from unlawful access. It is a method by which a newlinepossible account holder matches the credentials stored in the server or database. If the credentials newlinematch, the user is permitted access to the device. Without an authentication mechanism, verifying newlinewhether a user is who he or she claims to be is impossible, and intruders may get unauthorized access newlineto the system or device. When the account is hacked, it may cause damage to the device or the newlineresources of users. newlineTraditional methods of user authentication have been around for many decades. The first is newlineknowledge-based methods which are based on the ability of a human being to memorize. The newlinepassword-based authentication system is a common example of a knowledge based method. The newlinesecond type is token-based methods which allow user access according to what a user has in their newlinephysical possession and the last type of authentication is biometric based which uses unique physical newlinecharacteristics of the user.
