Abstract

newline The objective of the thesis is to investigate the unsteady newlinestokes flow of viscous fluid with onwithout a porous medium in the newlinepresence of an inclined magnetic field. The behaviour of the unsteady newlineflow in the presence or absence of magnetic forces and the flow of fluid newlinebetween parallel porous plates using the analytical technique is also newlineinvestigated. newlineThe flow is assumed to be laminar, incompressible and newlineviscous. The Navier - Stokes is assumed for the viscous flow, and newlinemagnetic effects are also considered for unsteady cases. Exact solutions newlinehave been found for the problems. An analytical solution has been newlineobtained using the similarity transformation method. The present thesis newlinedeals with seven chapters. newlineChapter 1.
