Investigation of heat exchanger tube fitted With novel cut twisted tape inserts

Abstract

Heat exchanger tube is widely used in diverse technical applications such as petrochemical and newlinechemical, oil and gas, air-conditioning and refrigeration, heating, and cooling, nuclear and newlinethermal, winery and pharmaceutical, steel, and automobile industry. The heat exchanger tube newlineis required as a step towards cost reduction and a sustainable field. Therefore, heat transfer newlineaugmentation is the matter of essential that enhance the heat transfer rate and yields higher newlineefficiency of the designed heat exchanger tube. The techniques for thermal performance newlineaugmentation are usually categorized into two types, i.e., passive, and active methods, newlineaccording to whether additional power is essential for fluid flow. The passive technique is newlineextensively used in practical applications when no extra power is needed. The heat exchanger newlinetube inserts like twisted tape, cylindrical rods, baffle plates, fins, conical rings, wire coil inserts, newlineetc. come into this category. However, no study has been reported on the hyperbolic-cut twisted newlinetape inserted in heat exchanger tube. The present work investigates the enhancement in heat newlinetransfer and thermal performance characteristics with the insertion of hyperbolic-cut twisted newlinetape. newline
