T newlineThe healthcare scenario in developing countries like India is challenging with extensive burden on a wide newlinerange of communicable, non- communicable and emerging diseases. One of the most dominant newlinechallenges of these infections is multidrug resistant infections with several pathogens of which newlineAcinetobacter baumannii constitutes an important part. Acinetobacter baumannii is capable of causing newlineinfections across the hospital settings. The need for such profiling is high in India, with a growing burden newlineof opportunistic and emerging infections. The present study is expected to provide a region-based newlineprofiling of the bacteria, which will reveal possible optimal management of various infections in the newlinehospital settings and also provide scope for specific efficacy trials on appropriate antibiotics to combat newlinethe growing resistance. Knowledge of prevalence of multi drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii and newlinetheir virulence factors becomes necessary in the selection of appropriate empirical treatment of newlineinfections. The antibiotic resistant bacteria have increased rapidly in the last few years, and become a newlinegrowing problem that has impacted the world and brought about the beginning of the end for the old newlinegeneration of antibiotics. Nanoparticles (NPs) are used as antimicrobial agents either for combatting newlineresistance against antimicrobial drugs themselves or for the delivery of conventional antimicrobials. Iron newlineoxide nanoparticles (FeONPs) has been widely used in biomedical research due to its compatible nature newlineand magnetic properties. It is expected that the antimicrobial activity of nanomaterials would remain newlinesame, even after multiple uses, which is one of the biggest limitations with antibiotics. Iron oxide is newlineattracting attention as iron supplements to be used in anemic patients. Among nanomaterials, FeO NPs newlineare an effective antimicrobial agent. Hence this study, explored the use of FeO NPs in combating second newlineline drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii infections. newline
