Study of the Predictors and Outcomes of Employee Engagement in Hotel Industry a Theoretical Framework and Empirical Analysis

Abstract

The research seeks to contribute to literature on employee engagement by studying role based newlineengagement. The study investigates the relationship of job and organization engagement with newlinepredictors and outcomes in Indian hotel industry. The construct of employee engagement is newlinehighly fragmented and diversely defined. The results contribute to bridge some of this gap and newlinecontribute towards establishing employee engagement as a distinct construct and to widen the newlinenomological network. The identified predictors of job engagement are job characteristics, newlineperceived supervisory support and occupational self efficacy. The predictors taken for newlineorganization engagement are employer brand image, perceived organizational support and newlinerewards and recognition. The outcomes identified for job engagement are job satisfaction, job newlineinvolvement and organizational citizenship behaviour individual and outcomes examined for newlineorganization engagement are organizational citizenship behaviour organization, affective newlinecommitment and intention to quit. newline
