newlineiii) To find out the effectiveness of amikacin administered through

newline model of Wistar rats.

newline2.3 Ethical Considerations
newline The experimental protocols of the present studies have been approved
newlineby the Institutional Animal Ethical Committee, Saveetha University.The studies
newlinehave been done as per the guidelines of the Committee for the Purpose of
newlineControl and Supervision of Experiments (CPCSEA), New Delhi, India.The
newlineapproval numbers were SU/BRULAC/RD/001/2013 dated 11th July 2013 for
newlinerabbit study and SU/BRULAC/RD/010/2014 dated 30th May 2014 for rat
newlinestudies. Rat and rabbit models were chosen for the preclinical studies as they
newlineare very docile in nature and easy to handle. The amikacin cartridges used for
