Abstract
Narmada river present a good opportunity for studying the effect of scale on the relative importance of factors that determine diversity. On a broad scale, Narmada river are recent, and their communities are a combination of species from the former reverie fish fauna as well as introduced species The micro climate provided by the different zones of the river attract distinct types of fish species depending on their preferential habitat which in turn depends on factors like variability of nourishment dissolved oxygen light flow In different zones of the river. The organization of fish assemblage reflects both biotic and a biotic factors these are moments which influence the distribution abundance and species interaction most of them direct or indirect partitioned.
newlineThe present study is aimed at assessing the microclimate present in the given stage of the river and the fish species present in these micro habitats, thus establishing the preferential habitat of the fish species which may prove to be a vital information with regards to preferred fish culture for best yield. During the present study water temperature where it from 22.4to 290c the fluctuation in river water temperature usually depends on the season geographic location sampling time and temperature of effluents entering the river values of all the parameter were found to be within the limits.
