Development of medical image processing schemes for breast cancer detection

Abstract

The biomedical research plays a vital role in developing key tools like medical imaging and processing thereby it increases the effectiveness in diagnosis treatment and patient management The medical imaging studies pave way for new discoveries in the study of normal physiological function and persistent prognosis of diseases In the recent times the computer based Medical Image Processing MIP methodologies are widely used in several biomedical applications These methodologies require significant innovations for effective diagnosis and treatment especially in the field of Oncology Breast cancer develops from the breast tissue and it leads to abnormal cell growth in the breast The Physicians usually look for the presence of tumor in a mammogram besides some mammograms contain an abnormal amount of macro and micro calcifications when the image quality is noise free The presence of these abnormal amounts of calcium deposits in the breast should never be neglected as these are signs of early breast cancer In order to interpret this deposition in a mammogram accurately the quality of the images should be at its supreme The proposed research work is carried out for investigations of various screening techniques to identify the different stages of breast cancer newline
