Design and development of secured shared and automated crop monitoring platform using Blockchain

Abstract

Crop monitoring entails the systematic observation and evaluation of crops to ensure newlineoptimal growth and identify potential issues such as diseases, pests and other related newlinechallenges. Crop disease identification and monitoring environmental parameters are newlinecritical components of crop monitoring, which ensure healthy crop growth and optimise newlineyields. Secured sharing of crop monitoring data among agricultural stakeholders is newlinerequired to enable effective communication between farmers and agricultural extension newlineofficers, enabling accurate crop disease diagnosis, to develop appropriate strategies for newlineeradicating the disease, optimise crop yield, minimise resource usage and enhance newlinecollaboration among stakeholders to address the challenges of modern agriculture. newlineThis research aims to develop a secured, shared and automated crop monitoring newlineplatform leveraging the benefits of technologies such as blockchain, Internet of Things newline(IoT) and deep learning. The major tasks to achieve the research objectives include newlinedeveloping an effective crop disease detection model that can be deployed on edge newlinedevices to assist farmers, developing a crop disease data management framework to newlineestablish secure and transparent communication channels between farmers and newlineagricultural stakeholders, developing an agricultural IoT data security framework to newlinecreate and share immutable records of sensor data between farmers and agricultural newlinestakeholders, and devising a method for developing an integrated system for a secured newlinecrop monitoring platform that can be deployed on each farm and create a secured newlinenetwork of farms. newline
