Abstract

The purpose of the study is to high light the contribution and achievement of sh. Surinder singh sodhi towards Indian Hockey. To investigate the contribution and achievements of Sh. Surinder Singh Sodhi towards the promotion of hockey and sports in the country a case study has been designed in which historical biographical, analytical and interpretive technique was utilized. The main aim of the study is to investigate the contribution and achievements of Sh. Surinder Singh Sodhi towards the promotion of sports in the country and sports achievements as far as hockey. To collect valid and reliable information integrated approach was adopted. Face to face interview technique was used for collection of data from his friends, colleagues, subordinates and associates. Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources. Published material like: Books, Sports magazines, journals, newspaper articles, and official records were assembled to gather information regarding his eminent personality. Pictorial records of his performance and achievements were collected for evidence. Survey technique along with online Google form submission was adopted to get responses regarding his personality as a person, player, administrator and coach. Qualitative and quantitative analysis was done for information collected through primary and secondary sources, thus inferences were.
