Aim: To determine the effectiveness of traditional vision therapy (VT) versus software-based vision therapy (VT) for non strabismic binocular vision dysfunction (NSBVD) among young adults. newlineMaterials and Methodology: In this study, a total of 54 patients presented with combined convergence insufficiency (CI) and accommodative dysfunction were recruited from tertiary eye care hospital. 27 patients were assigned to software-based VT group and 27 patients were assigned to traditional VT group. A comprehensive ocular assessment including binocular vision examination was conducted at baseline visit. Therapy was prescribed for 4 days per week for one month in both software-based VT and traditional VT group. Assessment of vergence, accommodative parameters and CISS score were taken after the one month of therapy and follow up of 3 months and 6 months. Vergence parameters such as near exophoria, near point of convergence (NPC), near positive fusional vergence (PFV), vergence facility (VF). Accommodative parameters such as accommodative amplitude (AA), positive relative accommodation (PRA), negative relative accommodation (NRA), monocular accommodative facility (MAF), binocular accommodative facility (BAF), lag of accommodation (MEM) and convergence insufficiency symptoms survey (CISS) score were the outcomes measures of study. Statistical analysis was performed with the Wilcoxon sign rank test to assess the effectiveness of VT at the end of one month with in software-based VT group and traditional VT group. Mann Whitney U test was employed to evaluate the vergence, accommodative parameters and CISS score between software-based VT group and traditional VT group at baseline and after one month of vision therapy. Data was analysed by Friedman test to compare the vergence, accommodative parameters and CISS score between software-based VT group and traditional VT group at follow-up visits of 3 months and 6 months. Number of patients with normal vergence and accommodative parameters and CISS score were assessed at one month of
