dc.description.abstractThis thesis delves into the surface tuning of Fe3O4 and MoS2/MoSe2 nanoparticles (NPs) to newlineenhance their sensitivity and selectivity for detecting Heavy Metal Ions (HMIs). By leveraging newlineeffective NPs like Fe3O4, MoS2 and MoSe2, we employ Square Wave Anodic Stripping newlineVoltammetry (SWASV) as a sensing platform for HMI detection. Further enhancing sensitivity newlineinvolves surface tuning through organic material or conducting polymer by functionalization. newlineOur investigation meticulously analyzes the functionalization mechanisms and SWASV newlinedetection processes. newlineWe employ analytical tools, including PXRD, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, FESEM, and EDX, newlineto analyze the morphology, crystalline structure, and confirm functionalization. SWASV was newlineemployed to detect HMIs under optimized conditions. Through comprehensive newlinecharacterization and electrochemical analysis, our developed nanoparticle composites exhibit newlinepromising potential for advancing electroanalytical methods in detecting HMIs in drinking newlinewater or industrial effluents.
