Wireless Nano Sensor Network (WNSN), referred to as wireless interconnections of coordinated Nano-nodes, is the most compelling but unexplored research topic. Ultra high density of Nano-nodes is desirable to prevail over restricted sensing range, low power storage and limited processing capabilities. This leads to sophisticated impairments in the wireless link, which is the most vulnerable in itself and is a bottleneck of any wireless system, between the Nano-nodes. The prime goal of this research work is to investigate different impairments of WNSN and their mitigation. Interference and fading in different in-vivo deployments of WNSN have been included as impairments under SC diversity and relaying scheme with or without energy harvesting. In particular, investigations of this thesis include the following; performance evaluation of WNSN considering the composite effect of interference for disorder monitoring of human organs and to mitigate its effect using SC diversity, statistical model for harvested energy under the composite effect of interference using random unitary beam-forming (RUB) based cooperative beam selection with MIMO, performance measures of WNSN over generic fading channel under multi-hop relay for plant monitoring, implement Fox s H distribution and symmetric/asymmetric relaying scheme. newlineA novel model for WNSN under interference is proposed for health monitoring, in which Poisson Point Process (PPP) is considered to represent the spatial distribution of multiple nanosensors within the cluster, whereas and#945;-stable process is considered to represent the aggregate power of interferers. Further, analytical expressions of Outage Probability (OP), Bit Error Rate (BER) and Average Capacity (AC) are presented and validated for the system under consideration. In addition, Selection Combining (SC) scheme is employed to mitigate the effect of impairments. The effect of various parameters such as spatial density of nanosensors nodes (and#955;), SNR of interferers (and#947;I), outage threshold (xth) and path loss exponent (v)
