The present thesis is based on a new commentary Vai¿eÀikas£traras¡yana newlinewritten by Uttamur T Viraraghav¡c¡rya. It fulfils the need of a beginner as well as a newlinescholar by provindg reliable informations and explanations wherever needed. It raises newlinethe status of Vai¿eÀikadar¿ana by elevating the most modern theories hidden in the newlinecannons. Uttam£r V¢raragh¡vac¡rya, a scholar commentator of the Vai¿eÀikas£tras newlinebelonged to the first order of scholars who dedicated most of his life in teaching and newlinepopularising the chief branch of philosophy, Ny¡ya Vai¿eÀika, besides Vedanta. newlineSpecial care is taken to bring out every minute points so as to enrich the study with a newlinemodern outlook, though in keeping with the tradition. newline
