Protection of Traditional Knowledge in Medicinal Plants With Special Reference to the State of Tripura

Abstract

The complicated relationship between (plant uses) and civilizations is studied in ethno newlinebotanical studies. Ethno botany focuses on how plants have been used, monitored, and newlinerecognized in human communities. Ecosphere people are those that live in peace with nature newlineand preserve a tight interaction between man and the environment. Plants and other ethno newlinepharmacological materials are used in folkloric medical traditions in all civilizations. Plants newlinehave been utilized by ancient tribal people to treat a variety of diseases, but they keep no newlinerecords and information is mostly passed down orally from generation to generation. Despite newlineremarkable advances in synthetic pharmaceuticals and medicine, many people still trust in the newlineusefulness of herbal medicines amount of people hoping for effectiveness and safety. In newlineconventional medicine, a range of higher plants are well-known for pharmacological therapy. newlineOur forefathers experimented with natural plant resources as a remedy for various diseases, a newlineprocess that must have begun with trial and error. However, with the dawn of modern newlinecivilization, such traditional knowledge about medicinal plants is rarely passed down from newlinegeneration to generation or is passed down in small fractions. As a result, the priceless newlineknowledge remains an unwritten asset that requires preservation and documentation. Tripura s newlineethnological uniqueness displays not only sociological and cultural features, but also unique newlinetraditional dietary habits and rural herbal medicine. Many of these ethno botanical species, as newlinewell as their traditional knowledge of health-care applications, will be studied along with the newlinenational and International legal regime with a view to find out some legal mechanism for the newlineprotection of traditional medicinal knowledge of Tripura. newline newline
