Synthetic Applications of Homogeneous Catalysis Alkylation Arylation Alkenylation Alkynylation and Amidation Reactions

Abstract

Functional groups are very important in organic chemistry, depends upon the functional group the chemical reactivity and biological activity exhibits. Introducing functional group in the molecule is big task in synthetic organic chemistry. Organic chemists have history of exploiting functional groups in small molecules preparations for their achievement numerous Nobel Prizes presented. Building on this tradition, this thesis applying homogeneous catalysis to deliver some of the functional groups like alkyl, aryl, alkene, alkyne and amides which are very important in pharmaceutical industry. For this we have undertaken three different methods 1. Borrowing Hydrogen 2. C-H Functionalization 3. Click Chemistry newline
