Abstract
newlineDyes are widely used in industries such as dyestuff, textiles, rubber, leather, plastics, paper, cosmetics, etc. to colour their products and these dyes are invariably left into the
newlineindustrial waters. Dyes are even in very low concentrations; affect the human beings, aquatic
newlinelife and food chain. Hence, the removal of dyes from process or waste effluents becomes
newlineenvironmentally very important. Because of the high degree of organic compounds present
newlinein dyes and stability of modern dyes, conventional physico-chemical and biological
newlinetreatments are ineffective for their removal. This led to the study of other effective materials
newlineto be needed. The adsorption process is one of the effective methods used to remove dyes
newlinefrom aqueous solution. Activated carbons are most widely used adsorbents for dyes removal, but it is too expensive. The adsorbents are Cicca Acida L. stem activated carbon (CASAC), Vigna Radiata L. pericarp activated carbon (VRPAC) are used for the removal of Cango Red
newlineDye (CRD), Methyl Red Dye (MRD) and Crystal Violet Dye (CVD) from aqueous solution. These adsorbents are to be characterised by various physico-chemical methods and also
