Studies on Transformation of Phosphorus and Productivity of Mungbean Vigna radiata L Wilczek as Influenced by Levels of FYM Phosphorus and PSB

Abstract

newlineA two years field experiment was conducted at Instructional Farm, College of Agriculture, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) during kharif season of 2019 and 2020. The experiment comprised of total 24 treatment combinations; two level of organic manure (0.0 and 5.0 t ha-1), four levels of phosphorus (0, 50, 75 and 100% RD of P2O5) and three levels of bio fertilizers (un-inoculated control, seed inoculation with Enterobacter cloacae and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) in factorial randomised block design with three replications. Mungbean variety GM -4 was used for the experiment. newlineThe results revealed that application of FYM at5 t ha-1 significantly increased newlineplant height, number of root nodules plant-1 and their fresh and dry weights, dry matter accumulation, number of pods plant-1, number of seeds pod-1 and test weight, biological, stover, seed yields and harvest index, N, P and K content in seed and stover and their respective uptake by seed and stover of mungbean as compared to control. Application of FYM at 5 t ha-1 significantly decreased bulk density of soil and increased water holding capacity, organic carbon, cation exchange capacity, available N, P2O5 K2O, biological properties like acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, dehydrogenase enzymatic activities, microbial biomass carbon and microbial biomass phosphorus in soil. Total-P, organic-P, aluminum bound-P, iron bound-P, calcium-P and saloid-P fractions were also increased with FYM at 5 t ha-1, however occluded soluble-P and reductant soluble-P in soil were decreased with FYM at 5 t ha-1.
