Parental involvement is crucial in imparting education to the child. Parental involvement may be in different forms. Involvement of parents with their children to complete the homework is one common form of parental involvement. Thus, parental involvement refers to the academic involvement and the supporting activities at home like helping the children in accomplishing home assignments which has an effect on the learning and academic success of the children. Homework or home assignment is an indispensable part of every child s life at school. Homework refers to the tasks that are assigned to students related to everyday class to be completed at home. It is a series of activities usually assigned for practice or to revise concepts which have already been taught in class. It provides opportunities for candidates to learn, practice and demonstrate the learning goals they have achieved. It provides evidence for the teacher that the students have achieved their goals. Academic achievement refers to the scholarly performance of the students in relation to their scholastic area. Academic achievement and its importance in the life of a student cannot be overlooked. Academic performance means the score obtained in academic events such as examinations, assignments, project work, quizzes etc. which are used as a means of evaluation at school. The educational status of parents has a major influence on the academic performance of children. Socio-Economic Status (SES) is a critical aspect while considering the developmental outcomes in children. The impact of SES is facilitated by the existing environment of a child.
