Abstract

We live in an ever-changing world where it is not easy to keep up with the newlinedemands of everyday life. The demands of jobs and professions keep growing and newlinechanging, creating additional stress and anxiety for employees and practitioners. newlineEconomic and psycho-social incentives, along with a conducive environment, act as newlinepowerful motivators across all sections of employment. newlineAll formal teaching is an atypical job; it presupposes many qualities and newlineresponsibilities. Parents and society have unique expectations of teachers. The newlinedisabilities of the students with whom the special educators work make teaching more newlinechallenging and stressful. Sometimes the expectations of the parents of the special newlinestudents are unrealistic and impractical, resulting in high levels of stress and anxiety for newlinethe special educators, leading to high levels of attrition. Teaching is a high-stress job. newlineAnd like all other professionals, teachers too have outside commitments, familial newlineresponsibilities, and societal commitments that add to the pressure. The education newlinesystem is undergoing rapid changes in terms of expansion, privatisation, marketization, newlineglobalisation, pedagogical innovations, and content and curricular diversifications. newline
