Abstract
The thesis is focused on the development of quinoline-based novel
newlinemultifunctional organic materials. Such materials have attracted considerable interest in
newlinerecent years, owing to their exceptional capacity to offer customized properties
newlineappropriate for a wide range of applications. A comprehensive review of the literature has
newlinebeen presented in chapter 1. The original research works carried out are divided and
newlinepresented into three chapters, 3 5. The primary objectives of this research were to derive
newlinein-depth knowledge of novel multifunctional organic materials regarding their synthesis,
newlineelucidation of crystal and electronic structures, exploration of their photophysical, and
newlineelectrochemical properties, and establish the suitability of their applications in biosensing
newlineand bioimaging.

newlineas an eco-friendly method for synthesizing stereospecific products. The effects of crystal
newlinepacking on the photoreactivity of 1-naphthylvinyl-4-quinoline (NVQ) and its Nmethylated
