Corporate Social Responsibility in India an Analysis of the Effect of CSR Activities in the State Of Uttarakhand with Special Reference to the Ethnic Groups of the State

Abstract

This thesis presents the analysis of the effects of CSR activities being done in Uttarakhand, keeping the ethnic groups of Uttarakhand in focus. The study focuses to analyze the effect of CSR activities being done in state of Uttarakhand on the people of ethnic groups of the state. In the attempt to achieve the objectives formulated, the thesis first studied the provisions related to CSR in India and Uttarakhand, the institutes that are directly or indirectly related to the scheme of CSR and the role of judiciary in field of CSR. The study further analyzes the CSR activities being carried out by targeted companies in India and in Uttarakhand, further it analyzes the matters related to proportionality in carrying out CSR activities and preference give to the state, and also talks about Uttarakhand s CSR portal Sahyog . Next, the study talks about the role of artificial intelligence along with other technologies in field of CSR, in era of Industry 4.0, in field of CSR. Further, on the basis of data collected from the targeted population which was analyzed statistically for determining questions related to awareness, demographical and geographical development, and preference given to state and need of reforms in present law. Through the study we have determined various gaps and discrepancies in ongoing CSR practice in Uttarakhand and have proposed certain suggestions to be inculcated along with a model Act. newline
