Exploring the biomedical efficacy of green synthesized noble metal nanoparticles for biomedical applications

Abstract

In this present work, the biogenic synthesis of silver and gold newlinenanoparticles using fenugreek leaves ethanolic extract and quercetin newline(phytochemical present in fenugreek) were carried out. The silver and gold newlinenanoparticles are being used for many years in preventing diseases and fight newlineagainst the pathogenic microorganisms. In ancient times, Chinese, Indian, newlineRoman, Greeks used metallic silver and gold elements to preserve food, water newlineand also for medicinal purposes. During the 20th century, the usage of silver has newlineincreased due to their effective applications in water purification, wound newlinehealing, dental and eye infections. Where, gold nanoparticles are widely used in newlinethe biomedical applications such as protein assay, immune assay and for cancer newlinetreatment.Silver nanoparticles have an excellent antimicrobial activity compared newlinewith the gold nanoparticles; due to this purpose silver is widely used for the newlinebactericidal application. Since, silver ions are effective when they are converted newlineinto nanoparticles, which can be used for the development of the new newlinebactericidal agent, whereas gold nanoparticles are more powerful material in the newlinefield of drug delivery and DNA delivery systems. newline newline
