Abstract
The rising population and consumption, reduction in available land and other productive units are placing unprecedented pressure on the current agriculture and natural resources to meet the increasing food demand. On the other hand, nutrient mining from many soils due to the lack of affordable fertilizer sources and lesser or no use of organic residues has occurred into the soils. The use of organics plays a major role in maintaining soil health due to buildup of soil organic matter, beneficial microbes (Kannan et al. 2013). Therefore, judicious combination of organic manures, chemical fertilizers and bio-fertilizers facilitate profitable and sustainable production.
